Using ReticulOS
The Widget
A compact, translucent panel that floats above all other windows. Use it to capture and recall clips without leaving what you're doing.
Window behavior
The widget is always on top — it floats over browsers, editors, and terminals so your clips are never buried. You can drag it anywhere and resize it freely; its exact size and position are remembered across restarts.

Closing the window never quits the app — ReticulOS keeps running in the system tray so global shortcuts stay active.
Collections
Collections are named buckets for your clips. The Home collection always exists and cannot be deleted.

The last collection you had open is remembered across restarts, and stays in sync with Reticulum.
Adding items
Type or paste into the text area at the bottom, add an optional title in the field above it, then press Add to Collection or Ctrl+Enter.
- Content matching a URL (
http://orhttps://) is saved as a link. - Everything else is saved as text.
- Paste an image into the textarea (Ctrl+V with an image on the clipboard) to save it as an image item.

Reading items at a glance
Each item carries a colored left border that tells you its type instantly:

Item actions
Every item has a row of icon buttons along its bottom edge:

| Copy | Copies the item's content (or image data) to the clipboard |
| Link (chain) | Opens the URL in your default browser — link items only |
| Pin | Pins the item so it sorts to the top; click again to unpin |
| Expand / Contract | Shows the full text of long items that are truncated — text items only |
| Trash | Deletes the item immediately |
Titles
Every item can have an optional title:
- Click an existing title to edit it inline; press Enter or click away to save.
- Click + Add title on items that don't have one yet.
- Title edits save immediately.
Settings
Click the gear icon (⚙) in the header to open the settings dropdown:

| Dark Mode | Toggles the dark color scheme — persists across restarts and syncs to Reticulum live |
| Glass Effect | Enables or disables the translucent background |
The system tray
Right-click the tray icon for:
- Show / Hide — toggle the widget
- Open Reticulum — open the full application
- Quit — exit completely
